Statements of support for mobile food legislation

The Mayor’s Office today released statements of support for the City Council moving forward on Mayor Mike McGinn’s legislation to create Seattle jobs by supporting more mobile food vending in our city.

“The expansion of mobile food vending will mean a more vibrant street scene and more options for residents, visitors and employees to grab a bite to eat Downtown,” said Kate Joncas, president of the Downtown Seattle Association. “I appreciate all the work that has gone into this measure to ensure that street food vending is a positive addition to the urban core and other Seattle neighborhoods.” – Kate Joncas, president, Downtown Seattle Association

“This is a strong first step towards an even more diverse and vibrant array of eating options for Seattle and its visitors. We hope that both the Council and our fellow citizens will appreciate the positive elements this legislation will bring to our city.” – Roz Edison, Marination Mobile

“The mobile vending legislation is proof that city leaders can reform existing rules in ways that create jobs, encourage entrepreneurs, and foster vibrant neighborhoods all at once.” – Eric De Place, Sightline Institute
