Mayor testifies in support of legislation to combat underage sex trafficking

As part of our ongoing work to combat the sexual trafficking of minors in our community, Mayor McGinn traveled to Olympia last week to testify to the Washington State Senate Judiciary Committee. He spoke in support of Senate Bill 6251, which would require online advertisers like Backpage.com to verify the ages of people being advertised on their website. The mayor was joined by Councilmember Tim Burgess, Assistant Police Chief Jim Pugel, and Port Commissioner Gael Tareleton. Check out this video of Mayor McGinn’s testimony below.
