Apply now for funding to support neighborhood and community arts events

Do you have an ongoing festival or event in your neighborhood? We want to help!

The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs administers a Neighborhood & Community Arts program which supports community groups planning a neighborhood arts or cultural event in 2013. Events must have been previously produced, have a significant arts and culture component and be open to the public. Organizations do not need to be a 501(c)(3). Funded organizations will receive $1,200 to support their event. The deadline to apply is 11 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Applicants are encouraged to pick up pointers on putting together a successful application at an information session, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24 at the 2100 Building. Space is limited; RSVP to Jenny Crooks, (206) 684-7084, by Thursday, Sept. 20.

Seattle offers an extraordinary array of arts and cultural events throughout its diverse neighborhoods. In 2012, the funding program provided $1,200 each to 39 organizations to support annual public festivals and events, including The Edible Book Festival, Têt Festival and Fiestas Patrias.
